What do you mean, "The missing century of Real British History?"

British History is taught in the UK as a Norman-invasion situation. The usual caveat is, "It all happened after 1066." Anything before then is described as either 'The Dark Ages' or 'Anglo-Saxon England' or (earlier) 'The Roman Empire'. But is this the real story?

What if the story of British History we've been told was INTENTIONALLY SUPPRESSED in the 18th century under the auspices of the German Kings or Hanoverians or What Became the Saxe-Coburg Gothas or Windsors of the RRP or Royal Ruling Parliament as we know it today? What if there is glaring evidence for a 'missing century' of the story of the British Isles? Wouldn't that be a worthy topic for the Dream Detective Agency?

But it can't be just about a 'lost or stolen or re-written heritage', it has to be 'something more sinister than that' for Lorien Howell to want to spend the next two years writing this book. More updates and information as it arrives on the ether or via the dreams.

READER HEALTH WARNING: the ...case of the missing century DOESN'T involve the Spanish Inquisition. Dream Detective Agency (book one) is not that kind of novel. But it does (or should) open with a torture scene, and below I'll explain why. TORTURE? is that really how one should begin a kids novel about the so-called Dream Detective Agency? Well, of course it is, especially when said novel deals with The Glimpser. It's all they know, it's their only means of communication with The Dreamer. A few people have already asked, "But how does this tie in with a kid's novel about some kids trawling through other kids' dreams to help exorcise these kids' demons?"

Aha, excellent question and it's partially answered by the famous Shakespearean phrase, "We are the such stuff, As dreams are Made on," and by that I mean, 'if the original programming has been altered, so will reality be altered'. By re-writing i.e. literally re-programming our origins and repurposing the Human Race to a slave agenda of work and taxes and lavish-life for the Elite Few or Protected Bloodlines, we are obliterating our True Role on Free Planet 4 Real or Faedon, as some know it.

I realise it's a shocking conceit to start a children's novel with a horrific torture scene, but this is what happens and will happen in a novel like this. Suffice to say, the culmination of the opening chapter is the discovery of Dierdre Openhouse's long-lost sister Brody Belvedere. We'll discover why they have different surnames in further chapters. It's all starting to gel, bond, come together..
